School Provision
We offer a range of alternative approaches to getting children active with the aim to encourage, motivate and engage all children to stay active and participate in physical activity.

At ATSK we understand that every child has their own separate needs to be met, hence the development of our three school programs that offer alternative activities as either breakfast, lunchtime or after school clubs.
The programs we run are; Ninja Academy, MI7 Spy Academy and Active Games.

Ninja Academy
Ninja Academy is a brand-new non-fighting martial art concept of embedding physical education, creativity, motivational and personal development skills.

Within a safe fun, enjoyable environment, the children will be involved in activities which are designed to help with general fitness and some of the following skills:

Dexterity * Cognitive Skills * Self- Discipline * Focus on detail * Etiquette * Team working * Problem solving * Balance * Confidence

The art is a new concept using nearly 40 years of experience within traditional martial arts from Master (Shihan) Kevin Stark (7th Dan Karate) to establish a none fighting art, in order to inspire children of all ages to gain and enhance new and existing skills over a range of fun engaging activities, in a safe environment; Shihan Stark has called this art Sho Ryu (First School) and will recognise milestones of the individual child’s development throughout the ongoing sessions.

MI7 Spy Academy
MI7 Spy Academy is a fun interactive club which is designed to help all children develop their imagination in conjunction with team working, problem solving and interaction skills.

The children will play non-traditional activities that develop skills and abilities to support the development of all traditional sports. The activities may involve: music games, ball games, tag games, invasion team games and individual games. These activities will help support the development of each child allowing them to achieve greater physical literacy as well as contribute to their 60 minutes of physical activity.

Mindfulness

The need for supporting primary and lower school children in managing their mental health and wellbeing should be the forefront of tackling the rise in mental health cases across the UK. Concerns of many head teachers of primary schools show that there is currently no support in helping educate children on mental health. Therefore, we are offering practical solutions to support and teach children how to deal with anxiety and some mental health symptoms.

Having looked at the concerns and completed some research, we have created a programme and devise some resources to tackle mental health issues at the primary stages of children's lives where the interventions are most critical. Primary age children look to be accepted by their peers and need to have a sense of belonging. Mental health issues create barriers for the individual; therefore affect self confidence, self understanding, integration and achievement.

Children from 4 years old - 12 years old will benefit from the programme, with schools being supported with resources and training in order for the schools to be able to support the children which they have a duty of care for, in view of helping any identified children to limit an impact to them for mental health concerns.

Research has shown that there is no mental health support for primary age children and that children in the early stages can develop anxiety and depression. By tackling the issues at an early age, we can help the children affected by mental health concerns to understand coping strategies, which will help them through their whole life. The added benefits will also tackle eating disorders, obesity and how to avoid gang culture, as for the children to be able to understand themselves will give them choices, self esteem and confidence to take through their lives.
